I read this article in the Guideposts with much enjoyment. We have a family dog who loves carrots. A few years ago, he had an infection in his pancreas as a result of eating cat food. The vet suggested that he be given carrots instead of the conventional dog biscuits. Sometimes he will crawl under the loveseat and to get him to come out, I place a carrot on the floor. He crawls out long enough to get the carrot and then goes back under. It's almost like watching for the ground hog to come out on Ground Hog's Day.
